Google pixel is undoubtedly one phone that is able to challenge the reputation built over the years by Samsung. Google Pixel entered into the Android Smartphone market with a bang and it is making heads turn in its direction. Google Pixel is further able to entrench itself in the market following the decision of Samsung to put an end to the production of Galaxy Note 7.

Even though a number of other Samsung products are still making impact in the market, the decision of Google to enter into the android Smartphone market will give these Samsung products a good run for their money.

In this write up, we will compare both Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S7 and give you hint on which is better between them. Google pixel phone price in Nigeria is not available currently, but the phone is likely to be of moderate price though.


Operating system

Goggle pixel is installed with Android 7.0 Nougat and also features Pixel Launcher. Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand is installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and also features TouchWiz overlay. It is clear that Goggle Pixel outshines Samsung Galaxy S7 in this regard, considering the fact that Android 7 Nougat is later and more functional than Android 6.0. Marshmallow. Google Pixel is therefore able to handle more complicated tasks than the latter.


Google Pixel comes with 5.9 inches screen and also features 1,080 x 1,920 pixels with 424ppi pixel density. Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand comes with 5.5 inches screen. It has screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels and 577ppi pixel density. This means Google Pixel has wider screen size than the latter. Gaming and other graphic activities will be bolder and bigger on Google Pixel, making it a more entertaining device than Samsung Galaxy S7. However, Samsung Galaxy S7 has better screen resolution than Google Pixel. Consequently, it partly shares the spoil in the screen resolution aspect.



Google Pixel weighs 5.04 oz, which is the same as 142 grams. Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand weighs 5.54 oz, which translates to 157 grams. In conclusion, Google pixel is far lighter than the latter. A lighter phone is far better, since it will not add too much weight when you carry it about. Yet again, Google Pixel outshines Samsung Galaxy S7 in this regard.


Google Pixel comes with a 12 megapixel primary camera with focal length of f/2.0 and pixel size of 1.55um. The camera equally features Phase Detection autofocus. The secondary camera on the other hand is an 8 megapixel affair with f/2.4 focal length and 1.4um pixel size. Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand comes with primary camera of 12 megapixel having dual pixel. The primary camera has a focal length of f/1.7 and also features ½.5 inches sensor with 1.4 um pixel size. It also has Phase Detector auto focus, LED Flash and OIS. Its secondary camera is a 5 megapixel affair with focal length of f/1.7 and auto HDR feature. While Samsung Galaxy S7 has better Primary camera, it lags behind Google Pixel in the Secondary camera department.


Google Pixel comes with a 2,770mAh non-removable battery, while Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 3,000mAh battery. The higher battery capacity places Samsung Galaxy S7 in the leading position in this aspect.
