Nigerian comedians are doing great & Nigerian comedy is a very lucrative business. They have taken over the town and have successfully established themselves as forces to reckon with. We are going to assess them in this write-up and give you a list of the 10 best among them.


He is undoubtedly very funny. He can be called King of Comedy.  He is a very funny standup comedian he is also one of Glo ambassadors and he is an ambassador with a difference. His birth name is Bright Okpocha. He has won the heart of many Nigerians via comedy.


He is also a very funny and highly influential comedian. His full name is Bovi Ugboma.  He originates from Benin City and he is popularly called Akpos. Before he because a comedian, he was a popular actor in Nollywood. He has however shifted to comedy completely now.


Akpororo is very funny. He is relatively new in the comedy industry, but he has climbed fast into limelight. Aside from being a comedian, he is also a musician. He knows how to set the audience laughing out loud. He got married recently to a beautiful lady in Lagos.

I go Die

This is yet another especially funny comedian.  He can joke about virtually anything and anybody, including world leaders and Nigerian political leaders.  His off-color suit is yet another funny thing about him. He has a way of dressing that always gets his audience laughing out loud. He is a natural rib cracker.

Seyi Law

He has the same agility like Gordon, another of the many comedians in Nigeria. He too is not really old in acting; he is among the new entrants into the comedy industry, but he is rising high and rising fast. He is known to joke about Yorubas too; though, he is a Yoruba.

AY too is an influential comedian. His full name is Ayo Makun. Aside from being a comedian, he is also highly creative.  His AY Live line of entertainment is something worthy of note and it is always attention-grabbing.  He is a stand-up comedian, an entertainer, a TV host, a musician and an actor. One of the shows that set him up was his famous Who Wants To Be A Millionaire show.


This comedian is hilarious to say the least.  He composes his jokes by himself. His dynamic way of cracking jokes also makes him stand out. He likes to say “Hallelujah” while cracking jokes and this always set the audience laughing.  He once referred to himself as Comedy Barlusconi Under the ODP Political Party.


Uncle Saka is also another comedian worthy of note.  He was once an etisalat ambassador, but he later ported to MTN after the latter offered him a N20 million deal. His action dealt etisalat a deadly blow that the company is yet to recover from.

Julius Agwu

He is usually called Julius d’Genius. Aside from being a comedian, he is also a musician.  He has his own music band called Reel Liaf Band.  He plans to contest for governorship of Rivers States in the future.


His real name is Alibaba AKporobome. He is popularly referred to as the Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic (GCFR).   He had carved a niche for himself over the years as one of the most popular comedians around.
